This is a costume that almost did not happen. I drove around for a couple months with the character image in my book, but never found the drive to make it.

Eventually, I found myself picking up tassles and other odds and ends for it while I was in LA. The next trip, these beautiful brocades caught my eye and they were at a reasonable price. They weren't exactly as pictured, but, knowing Sumire... she would have picked fabrics like these, I'm sure of it.

A couple weeks before Anime Boston, I put the whole thing together. During the photo shoot, I decided to try white makeup on a lark. I'm glad I didn't wear it at the con, though. I was mistaken for a J-Rocker around every turn without it, anyway.

Not that being a J-Rocker is a bad thing.

I wore it to Akon as well. Woooooeee, it was HOT that day! When Kyle snapped pictures for cosplay.com, it must have been close to 100 degress outside and insanely muggy. Not to mention I was short on sleep and the shoes just kill the feet. The pictures he took that day, ended up being my favorites, though. Funny how things like that turn out.
