Ahhh, the Mai mai mai. It was made from leftover superstretch from Lisa's Cutey Honey, white scraps from making the Seramyu fuku, some heavy roping and a whole lotta spirit gum. I wore it at the first Maucon.

I wanted to make a Mai costume, and with most of the stuff just laying around, why the heck not?

This one went up with me to Anime North in 2002, but, after customs inspected the costume boxes being shipped back, somehow, the main body did not return. It is a mystery.

Some-a-day, I want to redo this in a nice, gaudy orange brocade. Mai is just too fun not to be reborn again!

Maybe, I'll do that rarely heard Mai spazz-matic rap on the SNK Guys cd as well.
